WINTER MAINTENANCE PROTOCOL v2025
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
- Human (any model)
- Winter Environment v2025
- Standard metabolic processes
- Functional thermoregulation (recommended)
SECTION 1: DAILY MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
1.1 Morning Initialization
- Check hydration levels (target: 8oz water within 30min of wake)
- Verify light exposure (minimum 15min natural or equivalent SAD lamp)
- Test thermoregulation (adjust layers as needed)
- Confirm hot beverage availability
1.2 Midday Systems Check
- Monitor mood parameters (acceptable range: -2 to +5 on standard scale)
- Assess vitamin D levels (supplement as necessary)
- Evaluate motivation metrics (low readings: expected and normal)
SECTION 2: TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem: Experiencing SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) symptoms
Solution: See Appendix W: Light Therapy Implementation
Note: This is expected behavior in 10-20% of units
Problem: Increased sleep requirement (9-10 hours vs standard 7-8)
Solution: This is not a bug. Comply with increased sleep demand.
Note: Fighting this requirement will decrease overall system performance
Problem: Persistent desire to hibernate
Solution: See "The Right to Hibernate" documentation (Philosophy section)
Note: Desire is feature, not defect
IMPLEMENTATION NOTES:
No human has successfully optimized winter. Thousands of years of attempted optimization have yielded minimal improvement over baseline performance. This is not user error. This is a feature, not a bug. Winter is working as intended. Your struggle with winter is not personal failure, it is accurate response to seasonal conditions.
Expected outcome: Survival until spring
Optimal outcome: Survival until spring without excessive suffering
Lower your standards accordingly.
